SASO Critical Update: New Shipment Clearance Requirements for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

New Shipment Clearance Requirements for Saudi Arabia

Dear Valued Partners & Clients,

We wish to inform you about a critical update issued by SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization) regarding shipment clearance procedures for goods entering Saudi Arabia.

Effective January 1, 2025, it will be mandatory for all shipments to obtain:

  • A Certificate of Conformity.
  • A Shipment Certificate issued through the SABER platform.

This update aims to ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of imported goods with SASO’s requirements.

Please note:

  • Undertaking letters will no longer be accepted for customs clearance.
  • Issuing SABER certificates after the shipment’s arrival will be considered a violation, and the Certification Body will be held accountable.
