ECAS (Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme) is the Product Certification Scheme implemented by MoIAT (formerly known as ESMA) as mandated by the Federal Law 28 of 2001.

All regulated products must meet safety and quality requirements stated in UAE government’s Technical Regulations.

Suppliers must register their products and obtain a Certificate of Conformity before selling in the UAE.

Updates and Changes

It’s important for importers and manufacturers to stay updated on ECAS requirements, as regulations and standards may be revised periodically to align with international best practices and ensure consumer safety.

One-Year Validity

The certificate remains valid for one year from the date of issuance, but only for the certified products.

Renewal Application

A renewal application is necessary one month before the certificate’s expiration.

  • Valid UAE Industry/Trade License (or declaration of accountability for factories outside the UAE)
  • A declaration of conformity.
  • Test report from Accredited Laboratory in relevant to the approved Technical Standards.
  • The product label.
  • Any additional documents that may be required.
  • Physical product Photos for all the model/SKU required for Certification. .
